Still and Slight By Gary
Valle'
Sierra star blazing bright,
Winter's cold, clear night. Brilliant snow, little wind, Indistinct
hues, silent within.
Fluid light, unknown places,
Earth's stars, crystal faces. Feathered clouds, Orion's breath, A
darkened lake of unknown depth.
Fierce dimension, suspended time,
Set in moonlight, set in rime. Eastward glances, imagined light,
Awaiting dawn, still and slight.
Dream of simple things, Of warmth
and sun. Of meadows and mountains, White granite and columbine.
Sleep, but not too deep,
Twilight's near, death's to cheat. Crystal swords, fluid light,
Awaiting dawn, awaiting flight. |
