The course is characterized by its variety. It is comprised of five sections:

  1. Start - A moving water sprint of about 40-50 yards.
  2. Island Chute - A fast, curving channel, with standing waves that ends at a bottleneck with a hole.
  3. Playspot - Small waves and splashy whitewater lead to a broken ledge with an interesting combination of features.
  4. Put-in - A low gradient section with deep, clean eddies and well defined eddy lines.
  5. Shoals & Holes - A series of stepped, irregular ledges results in a variety of holes, standing waves, and boily eddies.
