Swirly Canyon is a super swirly, super fun class II-III run on the S.F. Payette River in Idaho. The first time I ran Swirly, my buddy Gary Gunder was trying out his new squirtboat. It was his first squirtboat and his first run with it on whitewater. He spent most of the time on one end or another and we laughed so hard that it was difficult to stay upright.
In this 1995 shot, Brett Valle' stern squirts an Enigma in the swirls of an eddy line on the Swirly Canyon. In hindsight, the Enigma was way ahead of it's time, and in many ways was the predecessor to today's low volume playboats.
