NOTES

This innocuous creek follows Highway 33, north of Ojai, and passes through scenic and sinuous Wheeler Gorge. From the highway the creek looks quite small and not too noteworthy. With adequate water we found it to be a surprisingly good five mile run that was technical and very scenic.

When Gary and I did the run, about 2 inches of rain had fallen over the last 32 hours and an additional third of an inch (more or less) fell while we were on the creek We put on at 10:10 am and took off at 4:30 P.M.. Gage reading was 3.4 ft. We considered the flow to be ideal. Gage is located at bridge just south of Matilija Creek road turnoff. Is also a rain gauge.
